TESTING his skills against cricketing giant Andrew Flintoff, 11-year-old Eddie Gilbert-Blay held his nerve.
He put up a fight against the former England cricketer, narrowly losing in the catching challenge against him.
After winning the crazy catch challenge against his fellow 75 cricketers from across Oxfordshire during the Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy at Moulsford Preparatory School, he was tasked with trying to beat one of the world’s best.
Eddie clocked up 68 catches a minute against Mr Flintoff’s 88.
He said: “It was absolutely amazing to have won the crazy catch challenge and to play against Freddie, even though he did beat me.”
Head coach and academy manager Mark Potter said: “The week was absolutely amazing and capped off by Freddie flying in by helicopter.
“Eddie put in an absolutely sterling effort.”
