#FIELDINGFUN – Week 2 “Step back & catch”

By on April 4, 2014

It’s week 2 of #fieldingfun where each Friday you can find new games, coaching tips and general Crazy Catch fun to improve your cricket skills ahead of the new season. This week we have a great little challenge called “Step back & catch”. Why not get out in the garden this weekend with your Crazy Catch and give it a go!

We filmed this game at the City Cricket academy with the help of former England and Leicestershire wicket-keeper batsman Paul Nixon who explains the objective of this catching challenge with help of Jonny and Connor. The key points here are your catching position then the game see’s players move a marker back a yard each time they make a successful catch, seeing who can get the further back the quickest. As you get further back you will need to deliver a more accurate, faster throw …try it both underarm and overarm!

The Crazy Catch model used in this drill is the Upstart Classic, a great size for home use – available to buy from leading cricket retailers.
